Couples Boudoir: Jen & Kyle
When Jen told me she wanted to come back for a second session, this time with Kyle, I knew it was going to be ๐ฅ. Their connection is the kind you can feel the second they walk into a room. These two came ready to trust the process, love on each other, and show up fully. Here's how they experienced it - in their own words.
Why did you book?
Jen: โI very much enjoyed the experience of my individual session last summer (to celebrate turning 50) and wanted to share the experience with Kyle. Iโve seen couples' boudoir shots before and always thought they were super spicy and felt that we could recreate that spice for ourselves. Originally, I had planned to wait and do it for our 10-year anniversary, but...I've adopted a 'live life to the fullest NOW' attitude, AND Julie ran a killer deal that I could NOT pass up.โ
Kyle: โI was voluntold lol. But went along happily!! I thought it would be fun and a great bonding experience.โ
Who chose julie boudoir?
Jen: โI did. Kyle didn't get a choice on this one ๐ I had followed a few boudoir photographers before finding Julie. Julie was the only one who felt genuine and accepting of everyone, regardless of age or size - she celebrates the beauty of EVERY woman equally.โ
Kyle: โJen did as she did a single shoot. I was lucky enough to be on video call to help with her nerves and WOW!!! It was awesome and I was sold on Julie immediately.โ
How was your session experience?
Jen: โJulie picks out things for me that I would not normally gravitate toward, and does so in amazing fashion. For both sessions, my favorite outfit ended up being something I would NOT have picked for myself. Posing this time around was slightly easier because I knew what Julie meant when she said 'chin to the window' or 'pop your booty' ...although I was still a little sore the day after from using muscles that I forgot I have. The whole experience flew by way too fast, if you ask me!โ
Kyle: โIt was amazing. The spicy poses and constant encouragement from Julie, although I did forget she was there sometimes, was incredible. Jen looked outstanding and sexy in everything. Julie has a good eye for that. Julie makes you feel like a super model no matter your size or shape. I felt comfortable and very into the poses she had us do. Very sensual.โ
What was your favorite photo?
Jen: โToo. Many. To. Pick. From - honestly! There were a few that I didn't think I'd like while we were posing, but then they turned out to be AMAZING images. I really liked the ones of us cuddling on the bed because that is soooooo us on the weekends - especially if we don't have to be up for anything. I loved the candid one that Julie took of Kyle watching me with a shit-eating grin on his face. They were all 'chef's kiss!'โ
Kyle: โOooof. I love them all! Picking was excruciating! Lol. But if I have to choose I like the one in the shower where she's leaning against me and I'm holding her head. It's like a protective embrace I guess? I don't know, just like that one. I will also have to say probably my favorite for different reasons was one that was a behind the scenes type pic. She saw how I looked at her and snuck a picture of me staring at Jen. It's nice that she can now see how I look at her all the time.โ
How Do You Feel About Hanging Wall Art With Kids Around?
Jen: โOur kids are older - and we keep the wall art in our bedroom, where they rarely visit - but, we're also pretty open with the kids. My youngest stumbled upon my wall art from the first session a month or so ago. Their response was 'when did you do that?' and when I stated that I wanted to feel beautiful for my birthday last year, they just shrugged and said 'that's cool.โโ
Kyle: โThey're all old enough now to get it and it won't be displayed in the living room or anything lol. So I have no issue at all.โ
Their story, their spark
There is something so tender and real about Jen and Kyle. The way he looked at her. The way she lit up being seen by him. It wasnโt just about the spicy photos (though - yes, they nailed those too). It was about honoring their story, their bond, their joy.
Sessions like this remind me why I do what I do. This wasnโt just a photo shoot. It was a celebration of a relationship built on laughter, trust, and that kind of love you can feel in your bones.
